Endzone offence
We will continue to run endzone offence in the way we have played it this year and last year.
Set up
- An Iso who positions inside the endzone by a couple of meters.
- A shadow who is initially positioned just before the front of stack, this gives us a secondary iso opportunity
- A stack, pushed all the way to the back of the endzone, in most cases we are not looking for players to cut out of the stack
The first option is the iso at the front who will make a committed move to one side of the endzone.
The second option is to hit the shadow iso, they should move forward to put themselves in a strong position to make a cut to the opposite side of the endzone if the first iso fails.
The third option is to play to the new front of stack if the defence has given us space to play into.
Below is an example where all 3 of the options are looked at. The disc should go to any of the 3 cutters who provide a good option.
In the central Half
Below is an example where all 3 of the options are looked at.
The disc can go to any of the 3 cutters if they provide a good option.
Near the sideline
On the outside of the pitch we should look to start our ISO outside of the endzone to create space in front of the disc for us to attack. The two scoring options are shown in the animation. If we can make neither of these cuts viable then we reset the disc and play to a new front of stack moving forward from the back.
Importatly from this positon we do not engage the shadow as there is not enough space for 2 cutters in a small lane
