Split Side Offence
This offence uses the key prinicpals from the Horizontal Stack but provides us with more space and better isolation.
- 2 Handlers
- 2 Isolated Cutters in a horizontal formation
- 3 Players forming a side stack
Structure
The basis of this structure is to isolate two cutters infront of the disc

Pull Plays
We have a few different pull plays which we can use to initiate our offence. Using pull plays prevents the offence from being too predictable
The really important thing to note from all of these plays is that once we have ran the pattern the offence turns back into the isolation horizontal stack that we have played a lot of
One – W
Starting from a short positon, both Isolation cutters drive deep, one cutter turns to recieve an under pass, the other cutter then looks to offer a continuation pass
Two – Buzz
To initate the offence the dump drives up line to recieve the first pass. To make sure there is no poaches in the lane, the nearest isolation cutter clears into the middle of the field
Three – Super Buzz
To initate the offence the front of the side stack drives into the backfield then up the line to recieve the first pass. To make sure there is no poach in the lane, the nearest isolation cutter clears into the middle of the field
Four – Flood
This is especially powerful if the defenders at the back of the side stack try to poach onto the isolated players.
The front two players in the side stack clear into the centre of the field leaving the back of the sidestack in space to cut under to recieve the disc.
One of the isolated players can now cut to continue the offence
Five – Sweep
The two isolated cutters both cut deep and create space for the back of the side stack to cut under on a large diagonal to recieve the disc.
One of the two isolated cutters can turn under to recieve a large gainer.
